Ideals, Skills and Values
Jessica Bartta presentation was quite interesting, especially learning about her journey to where she is now. She has been in the industry for quite a while and experienced many changes in the design industry. With that change, she also adapts to them as well. What I found interesting about learning her career path is that though she has tried many different things, she always stays with what her interests and values are as a designer.
As she was talking about her career journey, I can't help but think that she has jumped around to each workplace, but along with that she always stayed with her ideals, skills and values. Having a specific interest to pursue in the industry does have the driving force into what kind of job one wants to do. Thinking about the type of interest and my skills and values as a designer, I definitely relate when one wants to focus on their particular skills as a designer to further develop in the workplace. Especially when starting to look for a job, I can see myself looking at workplaces that have similar beliefs that I have, along with whether I have the applicable skills to further enhance the job I would be working at. Along with jumping to each workplace, I can see how she clearly has different skillsets because of the different types of works she has done, thus it further expands her own previous knowledge and be open to opportunities and trying out different experiences.

New Perspectives
Further thinking about Bartta's journey, she also gets new perspectives from each different workplace. With each company, they have their own set of ideals they are looking for, and since she has worked on different projects throughout her career, the feedback she receives from her previous workplaces helps her see projects in a new light. When Bartta was going through each of her projects, it is vastly different from the each other since she worked with different mediums. I found this interesting as there is something unique about each project and keeps me interested in learning more. I hope to incorporate that in my portfolio in the future as I feel very limited in my skills at the moment and I hope to expand that when I am in the field.
Final Thoughts
Jessica Bartta's presentation was an interesting ride, especially going in depth for each of her projects and how vastly different they are from each other. She has worked in many places, which in turn gives her new perspectives on things and get vast amounts of feedback on projects as well. Her career path is something I would like to pursue, but I am not sure if I would constantly be jumping around from workplace to workplace, as I would want to eventually stay at a company that I genuinely like. But with that in mind, I would definitely like to try different projects as well and continue to challenge myself to further develop my design skills. Like any other presentation, what really drives anyone's career path is their goals, ambitions and interests. As I work my way through the industry, I hope to keep them in mind to reach my potential as an artist and designer.
